"I haven't seen a single mosquito says I" as we tromped through the dense jungle near our camp with our flashlights blazing into the darkness looking for frogs...The Napo River flows from the Andes Mountains in Ecuador down through the "Orient" as they call it in Ecuador, all the way to the Amazon. I hadn't thought to bring a long sleeve shirt for our overnight jungle River tour, and odds were there wasn't a shirt for sale with long sleeve's within a thousand miles that could fit me. It wasn't until the next day that the bites started to itch..Next time, needless to say I'll be bringing a long sleeve shirt from the States...Live and learn.

First time I got to go on an international snorkel/dive trip was to Belize in 1981. I was fifteen and we drove down in a Datsun Pickup full of dive gear, and a portable compressor, back then it was hard to find a place to fill your scuba tanks, years later I decided it was time to take a break from my Job and see Belize through a greybeards eyes, to say that San Pedro Belize has changed is an understatement, they even have a hyperbaric Facility. I will post here about snorkeling, traveling, and stuff that happens along the way. Thank You for visiting! Burnie Archives
