Will You Take Time To Listen? Challenge Yourself To Look at Things From a Different Angle?10/27/2018 Whales Are Being Silenced by Human Noise Pollution. Article
Good Morning October 19th 2018 Today in 1973 Richard Nixon rejects an appeals court decision to turn over the Watergate Tapes. Today in 1987 the U.S. Dow Jones Industrial Average loses 508 points or 22%, and is called black Monday. It's the birthday of Oceanographer, Walter Munk (1917) who at age 101 still works for SCRIPS, who in 1963 lived with his family for almost a year in American Samoa to work on an experiment to prove ocean waves lose very little energy on their way around the globe, (thus founding modern surf forecasting.) Munk also proved the same side of the Moon always faces the earth due to tidal locking. "It's bewildering, and I'm scared to death that it's actually death by a thousand cuts," Wagner said. "One of the scariest parts about it is that we don't have an obvious smoking gun here."
QUESTION: Could Geoengineering Be Your SMOKING GUN? Article From Laredo Morning Times... This article from Quanta Magazine, by Erica Klarreich defies my ability to understand much of it. Yet, like a good, well prepared meal, I just love it.
After three years of research and a week of haggling between scientists and government officials at a meeting in South Korea, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has issued a special report on the impact of global warming of 1.5C. BBC Article
What We Can Do As Individuals: "buy less meat, milk, cheese and butter and more locally sourced seasonal food - and throw less of it away • drive electric cars but walk or cycle short distances • take trains and buses instead of planes • use videoconferencing instead of business travel • use a washing line instead of a tumble dryer • insulate homes • demand low carbon in every consumer product" And how about STOP GEOENGINEERING? Back in the 20th century somebody decided it was a good idea to stock some rivers in Chile with Columbia River Chinook Salmon. Due to the fresh water and almost no dams on these rivers, the salmon are thriving there. In fact according to one article I read at clancyfishing.com they were hard pressed to catch anything under 40 lbs. And after You catch your South American Chinook's AKA King Salmon. You can have them for dinner, and reap the health benefits of eating fresh, high omega three, and mostly mercury/PCB free fish....

First time I got to go on an international snorkel/dive trip was to Belize in 1981. I was fifteen and we drove down in a Datsun Pickup full of dive gear, and a portable compressor, back then it was hard to find a place to fill your scuba tanks, years later I decided it was time to take a break from my Job and see Belize through a greybeards eyes, to say that San Pedro Belize has changed is an understatement, they even have a hyperbaric Facility. I will post here about snorkeling, traveling, and stuff that happens along the way. Thank You for visiting! Burnie Archives
