When I was a child my mom and I used to walk along the beach in Washington State and pick up beach glass. Worn smooth like amber and blue gemstones by the sand, salt and waves I remember the excitement I felt each time I would find a piece nestled in the sand. Mom would take our beach glass treasure and make artsy stuff like lamps with it. Years later when I take a walk on the beach I seldom find beach glass...Instead I find more and more plastic. So... I decided several years ago to start taking my glass "Trucker Jug" with me on the road and filling up at the tap instead of buying plastic. In order to Try bringing back glass and help slow or even reverse plastic pollution. Now I've started taking these growlers with swing top lids and sandblasting them with cool designs and using them as my water containers when I travel in my big truck. I get complements all the time on these Jugs AND just as important I save a ton of money filling up at the tap instead of buying expensive and polluting plastic water jugs. AND glass (as well as most tap water) is much more healthy to drink out of than store bought plastic. Terrie and I love to etch designs onto glass jugs. These glass jugs look cool in the R.V. or Boat. If you would like to buy an Awake Bottle Email us at [email protected]

First time I got to go on an international snorkel/dive trip was to Belize in 1981. I was fifteen and we drove down in a Datsun Pickup full of dive gear, and a portable compressor, back then it was hard to find a place to fill your scuba tanks, years later I decided it was time to take a break from my Job and see Belize through a greybeards eyes, to say that San Pedro Belize has changed is an understatement, they even have a hyperbaric Facility. I will post here about snorkeling, traveling, and stuff that happens along the way. Thank You for visiting! Burnie Archives
