I think one of these babies would be good to pack in the luggage just in case you are in a dicy situation where a spear would come in handy. The Spirit Knife is even designed to screw onto a broom or mop handle (Every country I have ever been to sells Mop handles pretty Cheap! I think it would work great in a pinch as a self defense spear for either Snorkeling or taking a hike through the jungle. What the hell, sometimes a spear is a good thing to have! and when you leave you can unscrew the blade and throw it in your luggage for the next adventure! I drove down with family in a Datsun Pickup full of dive gear, and a portable compressor, back then it was hard to find a place to fill your scuba tanks, I decided it was time to take a break from my Job and see Belize through a greybeards eyes, to say that San Pedro Belize has changed is an understatement, they even have a hyperbaric Facility, I will try to post stuff here that other visitors may find usefull thx for visiting!
